Sheriff Doug Darr is a 30-year veteran of the Adams County Sheriff's Office. He has served in every Division within the Sheriff's Office as a supervisor, manager or commander. This wide range of experience affords him extensive knowledge and understanding of the inner workings of the Sheriff's office. He has served as the Director of Emergency Management, Team Commander of the SWAT Team, Special Investigator with the Colorado Attorney General's Special prosecution Unit for political corruption, organized crime and white-collar crime.
Sheriff Doug Darr is a 45-year resident of Adams County. He grew up in Thornton, graduating from Mapleton High School. He attended Mesa College, Regis University and the University of Virginia, graduating with studies in Business Administration, Criminal Justice and Human Resource Management. Sheriff Darr is a graduate of the 193rd session of the FBI National Academy and was selected class visionary after attending the Metro North Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program. Doug and his wife, Mary have been married for 12-years and have a young son, Justin. Sheriff Darr is an avid baseball fan and still plays with the Men's Senior Baseball league.
